My rebuild of my new 84 Ranger 302

Hey 84, nice upgrade from the points style, u notice any difference going to the accel set up?

3.73 gears, I built that truck on a very tight budget, at the time I was getting married, just bought a new truck and house payment, so thing were tight, I have around 2200 buck into, so not to bad I think. Im looking for another ranger now, would like to build a rock crawler

The Accel points eliminator kit is working very well so far. I did some research on them kits like petronix and mallory kits. Most everybody say the Petronix kit only last a year and you have to replace a part. So $99.99 for a kit that won't last long is not what I want. The Accel kit was only $65.99, so I went that way, and it didn't have bad reviews. Cheaper than buy and msd distributor on my budget.

Great info to pass on. Glad it running better with the upgrade. From what I read on msd, it's 50/50 from the reviews. I'm running the ready to run set up that came with my engine, very easy to work with. acts like stock set up. My only thing was wiring in the tach, specifically said not to go coil for msd, to use the tach out put from dist. Mine must be older style, no grey tach pick up, so I went to negative of coil and it's straight good to go. U get rear switched yet?

Do you have a MSD ignition box? because the box has a place for the tach wire.
Nope not yet, I have my rear end on my front porch! lol I going to put a locker in it and get some c-clips eliminators and I need to get some new leaf springs because mine were heated up to lowered the truck because it use to be a low rider. Stupid previous owners. I love MSD products, I have two 6a boxes in my house now, one was on my 89 mazda mx6 gt turbo and one for the truck after i get the bugs out lol

No msd box on the ready to run set up. The negative terminal provided the signal so all is good. Should have good video this weekend.
I'm leaning towards the expo rear, but possibly changing gears for 3.08 or 3.27s when I do.

been crazy this month, being broke because of a family member! I just pick up a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 from Alabama from the Original family for $1200. Boy now I need to focus on one project not two. But anyways have Very Merry Christmas to you all!

Got my C4 transmission and my 2500 stall converter. When the weather warms up I will put it in with my 8.8 rear end and my left springs.

Nice pic up mang. Just got mine back in :) what year c4 did that come out of? If it it's a 73, the modulator will have 2 vacume ports, just a heads up you'll want to switch that out if that's the case.

Put new shocks on the ranger today. Rides so smooth now and i can go over railroad tracks without bouncing 2 feet over at 45 mph. Crazy!

I went with Monroe shocks from rockauto.com they have awesome prices better than my commercial account prices at O'reillys and with shipping still beats my account prices
Thanks brother.
