Aligning a leveled truck

Basically going to be leveling the front axle (1995 D35) when I put it in my '85. Should the stock alignment bushings get it back into spec?

How much spring spacer will it take to "level" a truck?

The rear is a little higher than normal so it still won't be really "leveled" but the amount of lift will be about the same.
 
Generally a 2" lift will level a truck out. I don't know if stock bushings will put it in spec but after market ones readily available at your friendly neighborhood parts store should with no problem. You shouldn't need any beam drop brackets.

It has Explorer springs in the rear so the aft is a little taller than standard. I don't really want it leveled but I think raising the front roughly an 1-1/2" like you would normally would to level a stock truck would put it back to a stockish rake and alleviate the front tires rubbing.

The bushings are $40 a side so if I won't likely need them I won't put them in... just have them in the seat with a fresh receipt to return them if not needed.
 
That's exactly what I would do with those bushings. Lift it as much as you're going too and them play with the stock bushings. I don't know how many degrees the stock ones are but I'd imagine not much. Keep in mind those bushings are for caster adjustment as well so even if you have the camber aligned you still may need those aftermarket ones to adjust caster back to spec.

Every truck is different, therefore whatever bushings one truck's front axle may have will likely be different from those in another, leaving no good way to know ahead of time if they will work after a swap (even knowing whether a truck's existing bushings will work after a leveling lift is difficult). So yeah you'll probably just have to try them and see how far off it is... Sometimes with a little playing around with the ride height via coil spacers you can find a height where you can get them to work.

Regardless I would definitely say have a set of the two-piece adjustables on hand for it. Chances are pretty good you'll need them, however they can always be returned in the event you find a way to make the original ones work.
