I have a 1996 automatic transmission 2wd and I’m having some issue getting the converter aligned with the splines on the transmission I know it needs to click twice but can’t get it figured out is there any tricks or advice for getting the converter seated properly.

Just keep rotating it clockwise as you gently push it onto the input shaft. Sometimes you have to rotate it a long ways before everything decides to line up correctly.

When it's all said and done, and you mate the trans back to the engine, you should have to pull the converter forward just a little bit to bolt it to the engine flexplate. If it's jammed into the flexplate as you are tightening the trans to the engine, stop. You haven't gotten it in all the way.
