welded 8.8

hey all has anyone ran a welded 8.8 on road as dd pros/cons breakage ?

I ran one, stock 28 spline. It was fun in the parking lots. It will wear tires faster on road, and if you're a spirited driver offroad, I'd upgrade to 31 spline first...

I have a light foot off road I like to crawl I just didn't know how it would hold up on road I plan to got to a 31 spline but cash is low

On road is fine, offroad is harder on axles than onroad. If you tow, that might be a different story, i wouldn't tow heavy loads for long distances...

Should hold up fine if you're not turning huge tires and have an affinity for holeshot's. What size are ya running? (just curious)

Agreed on no towing, I wouldn't put anything too heavy in the bed either. Mostly tire wear and a few handling quirks are what you'll encounter.

235 75 15s this would only be for a while till I get cash together for explore rear and lift then I will get bigger tires and a selectable locker

Oh heck, you're good on those. That's the size I run. I get crap for it but they work well enough.

I get busted all the time but then when I make it up the hill and buddy's in full size get stuck on 35s they shut right up
