Dweano's V8 Project Attempt

I can turn it 1.5 turns and then it jams. I am going to see if if I somehow determine the threads. Maybe my school has a tap I can run through to see if is right threads (don't worry I won't actually retap the threads)

Curiosity compels me to ask this.

Is he smoking, or is that just a well placed A/C line?

Hahaha. I never noticed that. Well placed AC line. My dad doesn't smoke to my knowledge. I think they might be a tranny line actually. They were all bent up

Well my first thought was that it was a really weird colored cig, then I looked closer and it looked like a cooler or AC line. Then I looked even closer and got confused.

I can see how that would happen. I wish I had more and better pics but it was getting dark by the time everything got out and settled. I just hope the smushed tranny connector still works

With that machine, and 8 bolts, pulling the body definitely would have left some room...

Ran a tap through the 1413...threads are 3/4-16. So that shouldn't be the problem. The threads on the 93002 are also 16 at least. (checked with a thread per inch gauge thing)...but they don't screw together. I am up to about 2.5 turns before it binds to impossible to turn tightness...I do not understand. It doesn't make sense. I guess I will go get a PH8A and see if that screws onto the adaptor

The adapter, did you get the right one? The part # is 92003, not 93002...

Yeah. Like your thinking, check it with a filter. Whichever part you find different, I'd contact summit racing, let them know the threads ain't right (dont cut/thread or modify the part) they will send out the replacement right away. They have awesome customer service...

Drumroll....Its the 92003!!! Bought an oil filter...screws about 3 turns into it then jams...then have to get pliers to unscrew it...then those pliers slip and pinch my hand in that stupid pliers on the inside area that they have...anyways:

92003...I will get back to summit

Update:

-summit is sending me a new adaptor

-I have the engine and truck at my bosses shop

-I got the old manifolds off (must've been done before because they came out easy, Thank Goodness!!) and I took the transfer case off the back. Hopefully with the shortened length the engine and tranny won't have to get busted apart. I also got the oxygen sensors outta the pipes. I will reuse the sensors but likely just make my own custom exhaust.

-the tranny fluid smelled a little burnt... not brutal. But not peachy, but hard to tell how bad it is because tranny fluid already smells terrible. The fluid was mostly red it seemed like so that is good. I guess I will see what happens...

-Sorry no pics. Just imagine an engine sitting in a shop on some tires...having headers on it instead of manifolds.

Also...what do you all think about universal radiator hose? I have no donor hose really. Unless I can fanagle my 4.0L hoses to work

Get upper and lower hoses for a 99 5.0 ex, they bolt right on...
