My ranger has a hard time starting there are no codes

Hello i was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem. the fuel pressure is good running at 65 psi. but it was starting up normal about a month ago with no problem. Now it is hard to start. there are 0 codes i even put the scanner on and drove around and still 0 code.. Also it hesitates when i drive sometimes.kind like a bucking loss of power and them all power is good if i back off the gas.

Pull the vacuum line off the FPR and make sure it doesn't smell like fuel. If any doubt, replace it.

When was the last time you did a tune up or checked the battery? Your hard start could be an old battery starting to give up.

Your bucking sounds like a misfire. Old plugs and or a weak coil could cause both of those. If your scanner does mode 6 data look at that and see if the monitor has recorded any misfires. A miss won't always set a code.

^x2 I recently had a similar problem, turned out to be a coil that was intermittently failing and not throwing codes at all. It wasn't until I tested each wire at the plug end, then found a dead wire, then tested it at the coil and found that the coil wasn't firing fast enough on that one lead. A new coil and I was running good again.
