Has anybody put a line lock in their ranger?

Sounds like a bunch of you can't drive a manual.

Most of my manuals have a hand clutch, two have both a hand and foot clutch lol.

Someday I will get around to doing a rear line lock...

Interesting thread. Here in the UK, pretty much ALL cars and pickups have a hand lever-operated parking brake (with very few having a pull-type on the dash). The US system of a 4th pedal in a manual is extremely unusual.

As I have been driving UK manuals all my life, the 4th pedal is very odd to me, especially for steep hill starts. I hadn't considered line-lock as an alternative, but I am probably going to put in a lever-type, even though it means doing away with the bench seat.

But does anyone actually manage to fit 3-across in a Ranger? I have done it occasionally, but it's not remotely comfortable!

i don't even try to put three in a ranger anymore. that pedal controlled e-brake is from the old days, i think. you only see it in full size trucks now days, as know.

Here in the US if you need a parking brake to start out on a hill then that means you don't know how to drive a manual.

I’ve done it but it’s not comfortable for anyone and being my 2011 is a manual shift, makes things even worse for the middle passenger.
