I tried a search and couldn't get any results. Has anyone built any sort of cargo area organizer system for the Bronco 2? I'd rather build my own than buy something as I'd like to be able to modify it if need be for changing cargo options. I plan on using the Bronco 2 for kind of a bug out vehicle/daily driver/camping rig so it would be nice to have some sort of organizing system back there for the rough roads I hate everything bouncing and sliding around.

Go over to Pirate4x4 and look around in the expedition vehicles section. If you can't find quite what you're looking for, it should at least give you some ideas.

I just use a bungee net to keep things from moving around.

Those are some great ideas to get me started, thanks guys.

That's a very well thought out solution :icon_thumby:

I agree, I'm going to build one but won't be that elaborate. I'm just thinking of a shelf system in the back behind the rear seat to be able to store tools & equipment without having it sliding and bouncing all over the place. Definitely need the use of the back seat at times so I don't want to build anything like that which would not allow me access unless I folded the back seat down.

Something to think about is how the stuff is tied down. In a roll over or head on situation, you wouldn't want to get up close and personal with anything stored in the back. I haven't been able to think of a solution that makes for easy access to the back and still look half decent as yet, and I'm not in a major hurry as I tie everything down now anyway.

A good bungee net stretched tight keeps most things from moving around pretty well and allows easy access. But the larger, heavier items such as a full ice chest needs a ratchet strap.

Kind of thinking of some sort of compartmentalized storage box with a couple trays in it kind of like a military style wooden footlocker from several years ago. Right now my tool box slides all over back there and yeah its not fun having everything going flying through the vehicle in a collision, or even in offroad situations things go flying. Right now I'm trying to get everything put together as to what I want to normally haul with me to see what size I need to go with, I plan on mounting the box in the back with some heavy duty bolts, then having latches on the lid to hold it closed.

I like the rack idea but it would be about what I have now absolutely no tie down area LOL. I did put the spare tire back on the outside carrier where its supposed to be, but don't know how well those things hold up seems pretty solid though.

Yeah those would be awesome if I had a bit more cash LOL. I like that idea though, might do something similar just not as fancy and will be made out of wood because me and well metal won't get a long too well without nice welding equipment and lack of welding knowledge I'd be money a head of everything if I just build a wood version of that.

Great ideas coming though. Just need the time and the budget to allow me to do so. I'm thinking about picking up stuff here and there to build it so it will take time, but I'll try and post pics and dimensions as a go though.

EDIT: Wait that says plastic, wonder how well that would really hold up.

Sweet thanks. I'll give everything a look and eventually come up with a plan, right now its just an idea I have to keep everything more organized and secured I hate stuff bouncing around in the back I don't like it in the bed of my truck either which is why I have a cargo box with a locking lid.
