1/2 Ton Buggy Build

Looking good. Where did you get your coilovers for the ranger, what springs were you using on that??

SVT

projects looking good, Im just having my doubts about that 44 holding up to 39.5" tires

It's gonna be light weight, low power, I bet it will hold if he drives it right.

I believe it will make it for a while, he's not really known to drive with a real heavy foot...

A guy i wheel with runs a 44 on 39.5s in a full bodied explorer 5.0 without problems. he may have aftermerket shafts though

I got them used off Pirate4X4, guy said they were swayaway but I doubt it. They were 10" travel which wasn't enough and had a 225 top coil that was really soft I bought 300's for the bottom and that help alot. Top should have been more like a 275.

Me too. Could have gotten something like a q78 but I just would of went bigger down the road.

And 13" of diff clearance won't hurt either.

Looking good!!!
I have seen a few light weight low HP rigs on a D-44 but they were running smaller tires... I would stick with 37" and a shorter wheelbase.

I bet $1.00 amercian that the ball joints will be the first major failure. (imho axles are not major)

That's too bad, 10" or 12" co's is what I'll be looking for when I sas my Trac. But its looking good...

Only have a few hours at a time to work on it but I'm trying to stay on it.
Tonight I installed the 44 Spartan locker and put the diff cover on so the rtv could dry.
