1/2 Ton Buggy Build

The jeep guys around here rant and rave over those sliders, also the company that makes em is not to far from me and I know someone who works there. From the engineering stand point it seems like they would bind and hurt flex, but the JEEP guys say other wise...I usually never believe jeep guys...
Yeah Jeep guys also think the perfect wheelbase is 85 inches. Sorry B2 guys:icon_rofl:
yeah, a lot of the jeep guys on my local 4x4 forum like the sliders too. there's also a guy with a build thread on the same forum that's using them on a leaf spring D60 SAS swap on his ranger. i might could find the link....

here she is

I've seen that thread before. Seems like just as many people use them on the front as the back.
Subscribing since you screwed up the ranger thread lol
lol I know I'm a dumbass. The Ranger was almost perfect but some of what I learned building it will go into this build.
Scrib'd for the badassness and in on page one.
Thanks and stop by sometime to check it out.
Are you using 2x3 or 3x4?
SVT
2x3x3/16 for the frame rails. The rest will be mostly 1.75 dom with some 1.75 and 1.5 hrew

I have almost all the parts. Just need to get a front locker, pedals, and steering linkage from the box to the steering wheel. Also need to pick a winch for the front, I bought a 5000 lb for the rear and was thinking of putting the same thing on the front but they might be a little small for the front. But if the front gets too heavy I wont be able to use the air shocks I already have because they are only rated for 800lbs each:dunno:

hey now... the b2 wheelbase is 94 inches! every inch matters!

Mounted one of the tires by hand. Had to go with reverse offset 2.5" backspacing so these wide tires would be able to turn without getting too hard into the radius arms. But it's going to be wide, about 83.5-84 outside to outside on the front axle.

Beadlock it to make the rim a little wider. It'll make the tire form better to the trails :icon_thumby:

It's not a good ideal to beadlock a reverse offset wheel because the tire has to be put on the wheel from the backside.

Most rigs with this tire (39.5/13.50/15 Irok) I could find by searching run a 15x8 with no beadlock. 76lb tire and 24lb wheel 100lbs per corner isn't bad for 39.5's.

Started on the radius arms. Still need to plasma out some 3/16 to tie it together better but I offset the tube to one side for more tire clearance. 45" to the center of the heim.

I've been quietly watching this one. Looks awsome man!

Thanks, I'm trying to knock it out but I spend most of time with a tape in my hand trying to decide where things are going to be. Like those arms, needed the crossmember between the trans and transfer case and the front axle just in front of the oil pan. I'll be glad when I get to the cage part of it.

Welded some 3/16 on the end of the radius arms. Think that will be enough?
Had to do it different on both sides because the tube is offset to one side.

Looking good so far...

I like it! I'm curious... (Not questioning or anything just learning) Why would you build the suspension before the cage and motor placement?
