1/2 Ton Buggy Build

You build the suspension first to set your approach and departure angles, then you place the motor where the driveshafts are equal length (at least that's what I would do if building a buggy)...

ITs hard to set ride heights without the weight in it though...

My radius arms are the same way, work great.

My leaf spring mounts are only tacked on for that reason. Will probably setup the air shocks with 4-5" of up travel at the ride height I want then make the rear match.

Radius arms are done, just need paint.

Pulled the front axle apart and everything looks good. Probably just get new calipers and clean and grease all the bearings. Oh yeah USA Standard chromoly shafts and Yukon super joints should be here tomorrow.

And then I'll start on the steering.

Those USA standard axles have the same part number as the Yukon chromolys.

Let me know if you pull that other 44 apart.

part # for the shafts with joints I got is ZAW24136. I got them from Rockauto.com but a lot of places sell them. Some online stores use part # W24136.

USA standard are Yukon parts that didn't pass all of Yukon's quality checks. That is what Complete off road told me on the phone.

Also got Spartan locker SLD4430 from rockauto $100 cheaper than anywhere else.

The hubs I'm running are the warns from napa

They look like standard warn 9790 hubs. I will either get those or drive flanges again.

yessir, those would be the ones. They are pretty much the awesomeness. I'd take these over warn "premium" hubs anyday

Picked a set up at O'reilly auto parts that they had in stock for $89.99. Compared to what I have left of a Mile Marker hub the Warn 9790 hubs look stronger. I started breaking a MM hub every time out when I got 37's but I hope the 9790's can hold up with 39.5's.

They have been doing well with SGT Ex. I'll be keeping them for when The axle goes in D as well

Welded the balisticfab dana 44 Knuckle shock mounts on and drilled the knuckles 7/8" for the ruffstuff rod end inserts.
