I have a 93 4.0 on CL, I have had a few people call me and wanted to know if the engine and heads would interchange with a 99 OHV engine (I thought all 99 have the single over head cam) .

I have told them all that I don't know and I doubt it would.

could anyone here with more brains and sense then I do help me out on this?!?

will the block interchange?!?! will the heads?!?!

SOHC begin in 2001.

:iamwithstupid:

The SOHC was 1st available in '97 in the Explorer as an option. The Ranger 1st got the SOHC in '01.

Your 93 engine will replace any '90 - 97 Ranger 4.0l or any 91-94 Explorer engine. When they went to true IFS (98+ ranger, 95+ explorer)they changed the motor mount brackets and the engine block got a few extra mounting bosses cast into it.
