anyone have "how to build and modify V6 Ford engines" Sven Pruett book?

Hi will, how in depth was he on carbed 2.8 motors? was the info usefull for building up the early blocks pre80's? from what i can gather on the net ppl seem to talk pretty highly of the old school knowledge.

cheers

Yeah, it's the pre-80s motors that the book is about. It will be useful to you. It is a great resource for a 2.6/2.8. It's the 2.9/4.0 motors that aren't usefully covered.

I won't say I wouldn't pay $200 for it if I had a 2.8 and were competitively racing it. I wouldn't pay that for a truck I was going to put an Offy and Duraspark on though. Just put an Offy and a Duraspark on it and the $200 will help out. The 2.8 in a Ranger is a rotten pig and you don't need a $200 book to tell you that.

Thanks will !!! The motor I am building up is out of a 78 pinto block #'s are telling me 1977.

Cheers

I know this is a OLD thread but,

I have the book on my computer. I can't email it since it is a large file, but I can put it on CD. If anyone is still looking for it, let me know, and it does cover the 2.9 and 4.0 well, you just have to read it.

I did read it. Especially the part where it tells you to throw away the fuel injection.

Just dropbox it lol.

How large is the file?

Dang I have this book (need to find it). I bought it about 13 yrs. ago. I went with the V-8 instead of messing around with all the milling and other things it would have you do. Time to get that book up on the bay...

Thanks cuvox!!! I've been looking for this for a LONG time!!! You just saved me $100!!!

Epic, it is scanned in as pictures so its not searchable but it is readable.

Hope this works. The last link to drop box seems to be a dead link. I will leave this file up for a long time or can re-post if needed. PM me if I have taken it out and you want a copy.

I had a cd of this sent to me way back when I was building the 2.8 that is in my Pinto. Cheers. let me know if this link doesn't work

Does anyone by chance still have a link to the pdf? Neither of the dropbox links are working anymore
