I bought a 98 Mazda B4000 with 180,000 miles from a friend with a blown trans. I bought a used trans with just over 100,000 miles on it. I replaced the valve body gasket before I put it in and put in a new torque converter. At what point will I see fluid coming out of the line? I've got 3 quarts put into the dipstick and another 1.5 quarts I put in through the top port on the rad and the line that goes to that port. I'm afraid to put anymore down through the dipstick because its already over 1" above the cross hatched section on the dipstick. I know this pig takes like 12 quarts or something, should I just keep firing in the quarts? I would think that by now the pump would be moving fluid through the lines. This is my first delve into auto trannys and my first ford. Could the pump be bad?
