Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

Truck runs and idles now! Wraped up all my wiring, got the pump to run all the time by splicing the relay into the mustang ecu. I also fixed the key solenoid switch, just ran a new wire from the clutch safety switch, works like factory.

Now I need to do shifters, exhaust, seats, bleed brakes and a few other odds and ends. Not looking like I am gonna get it done for this weekend:(

Sweet! Glad to hear it!

...Now I need to do shifters,
Cut a hole in the floor, reach down and shift it that way. Its not like you have a wiggle stick anymore, cram it in D and 4 Low and go!

... exhaust,
Bah, just roll down the windows to keep the fumes out!

... seats,
Milk Crate

...bleed brakes
Completely unnecessary, just use the vehicle in front of you as your brake. Save wear and tear on your stuff!

...and a few other odds and ends. Not looking like I am gonna get it done for this weekend:(

Bah, its only Monday, plenty of time to get it ready :icon_thumby: We nee more Kyle videos of this thing being abused :icon_twisted:

Epic lol

Now it will be auto so he won't have to be as hard on it.

I know what you're sayin, but I think his driving style will be similar regardless of transmission. haha

It'll last just fine lol.

no.......

.....no that wont last......

do something about that.

and hook the blower motor assembly back up....

He made 1/2 tons last on 38's with tons of abuse (granted v6).

Now with a v8 and tons with 4d's, I think he'll be fine. He wheels no different then me. I have been running the same axles, with the same parts, with the same tires, with the same drivetrain other then he has a 5.0L and I have a 5.8L. I think he will do just fine keeping everything alive.

Pulley to rad clearance... I have the same issue.

There is a solid 3/8" of space, I don't think it will be that big of an issue. If it is I guess I will do something different.

Side note, drove the Ranger last night onto my trailer open headers at 9 at night....it was loud lol

Getting exhaust put on today

3/8 for a normally sprung rig. is not even close to enough.

if you leave power close to what you have now you should be ok for cooling though...

in your case, with the wicked suspension and tied up chassis i have to take back my original assesment because you may just be ok. i would slightly tension some chains pulling the block biased to the rear though.

looking at your current avatar made me think...hell theres no way for the frame to twist the motor and radiator together...i simply forgot how well you had this thing working previously...

my ttb setup needed an inch and a half...my current setup with leaves does as well...i rely on frame twist to some degree...on road handling is solid though. my experience with airshocks left me with the impression they would be off the table for my needs. i still use mine as a truck 95 percent of the time...when its not trail riding or being a snowmobile or ice shanty...

regardless countering the pulley bolts is worth the time if you get a few minutes...but i really dont think permanant damage will occur from the perspective of that pic when they eventually self clearance a bit. grind itself cozy is all...

and they will. unless you chain em back smartly.

my preferred cooling setup is much quieter and runs the fan less and nets more room depending on how you mount the winch. run what ya got and go from there is what i would do as well. if you do run into cooling issues i do have some shit you can try out....so you dont have to waste any money:icon_thumby:
