disciplerocks's B2 build thread

Yeah customs will probably rape me on that. I'll get back with you if I don't spot anything at the u-pull.

This won't be a project that I am going to jump on real quick. Still need to finish doubler, find some 5x5.5 rims, and get some more work done on my cage.

hey Dustin....remember I was gonna do a D50/44 hybrid.....

I have a bare set of 44 beams I got from Greg, and a complete D50 ( minus hubs ).....I will sell it to ya for what I have in it....a whopping $30 ( what I gave Greg for the 44 beams, the rest was givin to me )....

if ya interested just let me know.....

l8r, John

Thanks, but I am going to keep my beams. And I'd like to stay 5 lug.

Everything for the doubler case is done. Got the block orf plate cut, drilled, and tapped and the shift fork shaft cut. Going to pick up my rear driveshaft today. It will be ready to bolt in. Only things left are the front shaft and a new crossmember.

This is my "shiftster". Just the gear from the electric motor. It will do just fine for the time being.

Also got an early Xmas present. Now where to mount it?

You need to make some kind of cable driven shifter to replace the motor....I've been thinking of one for a while.

i was thinking of making one out of a throttle push pull cable from heavy equipment, a regular cable like a bike cable will only allow one motion, either engage or disengage

OP nice work on the b2, i always look forward to updates :icon_thumby:

I seen a company that makes a kit comes with everything. Was expensive though, $300 or so expensive. Can't remember the name, but 4.0B2 told me about it a few years ago.

Not even worth it. I am 95% sure you could combine a 1350m and a 1354e to make a 1354m. Use the back half of the 1350, front and internals of the 1354 minus the shift gear. Use the shifter off the 1350 and remove the plug on the 54 case where its supposed to be.

I'm not worried about reaching underneath to shift it. I will already have to lock the hubs and air down anytime I wheel. So that is not a deal breakee. And probably not worth swapping even if I find a manual.

I just cleaned the shift motor internals and its been shifting flawless for years. Have you tried that yet? Takes like a half hour. I keep a shiftster in my glove box just in case, but it's been working well.

Mine is not setup for an electric. I would have to wire the motor and switch in.

i remember seeing that, it was nice, but expensive, and i didnt care for the placement of the lever

i believe snoranger knows a way to convert them all to manual, he has schematics with where to drill and how deep and all, i havent had my shift motor let me down.......YET... so i'm gonna leave it til that day

It was a good idea, but price was just crazy.

Picked up my driveshaft from being shortened. And moved the front yoke to the rear to make it work (yes you can do that). Working on getting another to replace the front one.
