who would of thought a ford stealership would have tried top rip me off..

pretty soon you won't be able to get a job unless you have decent credit. Bad credit also raises your insurance premium....... atleast they us that as an excuse to charge me $90 more than they charge my brother...... and my driving record is better...... not one moving violation in 4.5 years.

bad credit is a bad thing. however, having no credit is better than having good credit.

I'm sure you're a big boy so I won't lecture you on interest payment. Two years ago I purchased my sonic blue 4wd Edge with 4.0L, 5R55E, and 4.10 gears. It had 45,000 on the clock and i payed $12,500 for it. In my opinion, you can find a similar truck way cheaper.

To the guys who are against borrowing to increase your credit.... the only reason I purchased this truck and my bike was because of the 1.99% interest my bank offered me. I've been borrowing since the day I turned 18 years old. I payed 9.9% interest on my first loan (an atv). Now I can reap the benefits of $220 monthly payments.

imagine how much you could save if you didn't have any payments at all, if you didn't pay any interest at all. that $220 monthly payment could be going in the bank, or into a project, or into a college fund, a house fund, retirement, etc...

Imagine how hard it would be to run to the store to get parts for my project, drive to college, leave the house, or cause accidents at the intersection from driving slow during retirement if I didn't have a vehicle!

:icon_confused: Having no credit is just as bad as having bad credit.

nope. having no credit is far better than having perfect credit. if you don't borrow money, what do you need a good credit score for? if you can pay cash for everything you own, what do you need a good credit score for? as for employers and insurance companies and so forth, having bad credit will screw you, having no credit will make things happen for you!

i never said you don't need a vehicle. i simply stated you don't need debt to have a vehicle.

If you NEVER need to borrow money then you are correct. I am not so fortunate to be able to pay for a new vehicle in cash, let alone a house. I'm stuck with payments, so I might as well make the best of it and pay the least I can in interest.

what? bullshit.

also, get an insurance company that doesn't run your credit, not all of them do.

Well, if you ever try to get a loan theyre gonna say "no way jose"...i only know one person that has bought a vehicle and a house in cash...but he is working constantly, doesnt even have time for hobbies. Screw that ill get a loan lol.

got a family member that works there aswell.

Think that qualifies you for the employee price plan. Don't know the current rate for what you want but the sticker on the new one I got in 06' was $18,800 and I got it for $12,500 or so. Then put 37k on it in a year and sold it for a profit anyway:icon_rofl:(changed jobs and wanted out of the payment)

If you have NO credit, you will be auto declined for an car loan, and credit card, a morgage, among other things. I couldnt tell you in words how wrong you are here.

Come buy a truck off me, and we will let my F&I manager do the approval. if you have ZERO credit, your gonna get a call in about 20 minutes saying you need a co-signer.

sorry chkn, but bad credit gets you more places then no credit.

Id love to see you buy a $500,000 house CASH. Saying zero credit is better then perfect credit is obviously incorrect.

It's okay, i believed that crap too. Now i'm debt free, i don't need, or credit cards, or a mortgage. However if i did want a mortgage i would be instantly approved (i know this because i am looking at houses and i thought i'd see what the bank said)

Look at it this way, you are a bank and two men come and ask for a large loan, we'll say a mortgage. Man A has $120,000 in student loan debt, an auto loan, and credit card debt but has never missed a payment. Man B has no debt, has paid for cars, a paid for education, and no credit cards, he also has a significant savings at your bank. Which one is lower risk?

Credit = debt. Debt is not a necessity for anything. You can buy a car without debt. You can go to school without debt. You can go grocery shopping without debt. You can buy a house without debt. If you don't have that debt, your money can actually make money for you. Getting there is hard, it's very hard but once you get to be debt free, it is absolutely worth it.
