ranger refit/build thread

Damn Doc, nice work on the Celica, and good score as well :icon_thumby:

I kinda figured you had that shirt also....I wore mine till it was a rag...lol.
ya,i tend to wear them till some loved one tells me i can't anymore.had most of the good ones from when t shirts were good(y'know, mud sweat and gears with the dirt bike, etc)

thanks.i wish the pics did the paint job justice-might try to get some better ones in the sun when i can.it was kinda drizzly when those were taken.
like i said earlier the van i'm doing right now will be done on wednesday,it's collision repair on a plain white van but as an extra the owner wants some graphics on it to add some color.
i'll toss a pic or two up once it's done.

i kinda thought the blower was a good score...i really wasn't expecting a bite when i threw out the offer, and then wasn't thinking it would be any good...but it looks like about a hundred bucks will make it servicable,i don't know what all the stuff to hook it up will cost.oh,well-i've always wanted to have a blower on something, and i'm not getting any younger.
i guess it's time,whether it makes sense or not:D.

That's the best time to use a blower, when it doesn't make any sense.

sorry,man...been stupid busy...my plans for 'me time' never seem to work out the way i want.

by the way, congrats on the totm:icon_cheers:

no worries, i'm just playing around, ;) thank you very much! :) :icon_cheers:

sorry man, that ain't gonna happen.i'm not even looking at it till after september.

DAMN! i had a feeling though...

a little something i just bought,who knows where it'll end up;
blower001.jpg

needs new bearings and a bit of cleanup, but overall it seems in reasonable condition.paid $70 for it.

WOOOO sweet!!!!

if ya put that blower on the Ranger.....please fab a scoop that looks like Mad Max's " V-8 Interceptor " one....I think it would look awesome peeking over the cab from the front......

maybe on the ranger... it's already got enough power... how about on the gt? :) even if not perminent, might be fun to see the carbs mocked up ontop of it, with everything 18" taller than the roof...

nice job on the Celica....like you would do anything less than exceptional anyway.....

l8r, John

agreed, the celica does look pretty sweet, just needs some tire shine, and some rim polish, and it's show quality

I would like to comment on this thread but it appears that I am at a loss of words to properly describe my frame of mind after reading it.

lab:icon_rofl:

i always thought it was a tarp shed:icon_welder:

i just wish i had time to get this thing back into one piece, seems there's a bunch of people that think their boats are more important than my projects...and bill collectors that agree with them:annoyed:

please, for the children (us) just finish one of the projects...

the wheelie wagon, the ranger, the expo beach runner, the gt-12... any of the other ones that i might have missed...

isn't stretch under the knife right now too?

yup, that's what i'm working on right at this moment.

almost done, the kids get back sunday so that's d-day for me.

that's the plan...i haven't even had time to tear it down yet,so there it sits.
i have to get the ranger together before the ugly weather hits, and i've been looking hard at the gt lately.september's just about on us,and i'll become a shut-in for a few months.

i need a few more of me to get this stuff dealt with.i didn't even get shorty on the road yet, though i use it on a regular basis.

Don't quite think i qualify as another you, but i'd gladly come up there and give ya a hand as long as you need. All i need is a cot, a roof over my head, and 2-3 squares a day.

what,you want to eat too?

geez,that's where it all starts:icon_hornsup:

what would the wife think?

I was watching Top Gear the other night and seeing this.........

capture_20110821_210148.jpg

made me drool in anticipation of Doc's latest jaw-dropping frankenstein coming to life in his remote west coast island laboratory hide-out......

I would love to have a Jag V12 to install in my ranger.

Dang it
