Part question. Bed support

Pulled the bed off to do frame clean-up and whatever else I may find and have a question about this part:


Does anyone have any idea what they are called and where I might find one online? I've looked in the usual spots (LMC, Rock, EBAY, etc).
In my reference parts book, I get them as a Step Support or Step Bracket with part numbers like this: F37Z-83200A22A
There are - or were - four of them. They are rubber pads or supports and are riveted in place. I want to replace them and plan on just using a few layers of inner-tube rubber and adhesive to hold them down.
Do you think that will be enough or should I just move along and not do anything?

Any info/opinions are welcome.

Your approach will be fine. I used two layers of self stick roofing membrane (Bituthane or Ice and Water Shield) and it did the job and the body lines came out perfect.

I’ve never seen those… or they’ve been stuck to the bed and not the frame. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

They are basically just blocks of caulk on my 94. DCM Classics should have an actual solution, 1948 up Dodge stepside cross sill cushions. A rubber pad with locator bumps in the center. There is a hole in the frame, and a hole in the bedsill…

Wow. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately -- or fortunately however you wanna look at it -- I did a work-around using layers of rubber glued down. in the spots where the old pads used to be:


Nevertheless, this info is great for others who are facng the same situation.

Always late to a party…

I’ve had Pilot House (1948-52), Power Giant (57-60) and Sweptline (61-71) Dodges since I was a little kid. The cross compatibilty versus moden minitrucks is scary. And I tend to be a font of “obscure vehicle stuff” according according to my wife.
