Where can I find the cheapest 2.8 replacement long blocks or just bare blocks? Not gonna say how but mine now has a quarter sized hole in it after a trip home on r&r :annoyed:so now it needs replacing. Also, has anyone used the 390cfm Truck Avenger on the 2.8 and if you have, what kinda MPG does it see after dail in?

Dont know about bare blocks but the cheapest might be from a junk yard. And people that do run after market carbs. (usually with the duraspark conversion) say they are getting 20 mpg after a year or so of tunning it. In my opinion, the 390 cfm is to large of a carb. and the 350 cfm is a much better choice as from what ive read the 2.8 can only move 371 cfm of air a minute. Im putting a TBI system on my 2.8 when I drop the motor in (after I get a 5speed tranny).
