I am new to this site just purchased a 1999 Red Ranger ext cab 3.0 4x4 great buy $800.00 from the scrap yard I work at. Frame is a little rusty but no major rot body great shape runs good. The former owner was moving decided to junk the truck instead of dealing with tire kickers.sounds crazy but.. The former owner took good care of vehicle He apparently replaced the 4x4 locking hubs on both sides old ones were in back seat. My question is below the dash board there is a cup holder there is a toggle switch on the side of the cup holder I disconnected the cup holder from the floor there is a wire that goes from the switch up into the dashboard ? If you flip the switch the dome light will come on or off, there don't seem to be a problem with the light switch itself ? But both 4WD high and low indicator light flash a cpl times and then off I locked the hubs and and flipped the switch again and the 4WD low indicator light stayed on. is this a factory install? or after market It wasn't a hack job done to it,whoever installed it, if it isn't factory Does anyone have any Idea what is this all about I have looked through owner manual and online cannot find nothing Anything If anyone can make any sense of this please help My buddy has a 2001 Ranger but not a XLT model and he doesn't have one Sorry for the long drawn out story just trying to give as much info as possible thanks
