I have a 2005 Ford Ranger 5-speed manual with about 137,000 miles on it, and I have been experiencing some strange noises. No idea if the clutch or transmission oil has been change.
The 1st strange noise is a faint clicking sound I hear at idle when I engage and disengage the clutch, other than the noise, the clutch works. It gets louder and more noticeable once I get moving, however it doesn't do it every time
The 2nd is a loud thud if I release the clutch too quickly and without giving it any gas when shifting gears, sounds like it is coming from the mid-rear of the truck.
Usually what I do to get rid of the thud when shifting gears, is slowly engage, and disengage the clutch while giving it a little gas. When I say slowly, it usually takes me a second to engage and disengage
This is my first vehicle I ever owned, and the first manual transmission I owned, so these noises may be normal. Any tips on driving manual will be greatly appreciated
