I used the FatMat on my 82 Jeep to reduce the hollw sound an so far so good.

I didn't do the floor yet but will shortly.

There are different type of this stuff, some will reduce heat and noise.

Check it out: http://www.fatmat.com/index.htm

Lookin into using this on my truck, as tire/exhaust drone on the hwy get's old quick. Maybe I'm getting old, but I'd like to be able to carry on a conversation or listen to the radio without it being cranked all the time. As for rattles, my truck has none what so ever, so i'm lucky there.

I just ordered 100 sq foot of the fatmat extreme for my extended cab. I'll do the doors tonight as I am finishing installing my component speakers. I'll save the rest for the weekend.

I just got the front doors done. I can't really tell the difference in sound at this point as I still have the rest of my truck to do. I can tell you it is very easy to work with, but I have a faint tar smell in my truck. I'm going to finish the rest of the interior this weekend. I hope it helps with the exhaust drone, as my truck came with a Gibson exhaust. I like the sound from the outside, but inside about 75mph, it is truly annoying. I'll keep you posted.

Well I finally got the sound deadening in my truck this weeked. I put a couple of layers all the way around with 3 layers on the back wall. It makes a pretty good difference. I was getting really annoyed by the drone of my Gibson Exhaust on the highway. The fat mat has really kept it down to a minimum. It nice being able to listen to your tunes. If you have a noisy interior. This is the way to go.

faint tar smell

That tar smell still hasn't gone away... months later. I'm kinda dreading the summer when i starts to get really hot...

Can you use a spray on bed liner over top of the fat mat? I don't know if the bed liner stuff will crack on something like that. Just wondering.

I installed carpet in my truck at the same time as the fat mat. I don't have the tar smell anymore.....or i'm just used to it by now.
