Hey folks. I've been kicking around on the forum with this truck for a while now. I've finally started to make some headway on getting it back in shape.

Here's what I'm up to.
2001 4.0 4X4 Extended cab XLT. Paid $600 has 109,000 on it.
She had a tangle with a tree on the right front fender before I got her. Also the bed and rear bumper on the drivers side are all banged up, I guess the owners girl friend hit a utility pole while backing up.
I'm not planning any major mods, just looking for a decent daily driver. I've had my 1998 3.0 for almost 8 years now, but she's pretty worn out, I've loved my truck since I got it and really wanted to stick with a ranger.

What I've done:
Replaced steering rack.
Replaced passenger side upper control arm, and lower ball joint.
Replaced passenger side knuckle.
Replaced passenger side front fender.

What I need to do:
Replace the bed, I already purchased a fleet side bed to replace the original flair side.
Cat back exhaust needs some attention.
Shocks.
Add-A-Leaf ( probably gonna do a 1 1/2" or 2" lift for the front to keep her leveled out).
Rear diff cover.
Rocker panel repair.
Radiator.
Possibly some frame repair in the rear where the bumper mounts.
New paint (in the spring).
Repair 4x4, it won't shift into 4hi or low.
Find out why ABS light is on.
I'm sure I'll find more as I go along.

I'll get some pics up when I get a chance.

I've been making some progress, see the fender?! A piece of my old rig will live on!

A few more shots of it.

The new bed I picked up for it.

And my dooryard. My wife is a patient woman.

styleside box will fit just going to have to get a longer filler tube.. the metal fill neck is the same . rubber is shorter on the step sides. abs light could be on due to rust build up behind the sensor common problem up here in the salt belt. your radiator should swap over . might have to swap some hoses around but will fit. good luck! same color as my 99! with 01 looks and powertrain.. lol

My credo
Leave it better than you found it.

Kudos to you for giving your wife a nod. Lord knows I'd be no good without mine.:icon_thumby:

Looking forward to seeing your truck all fixed up and road ready!

Not much progress this weekend. I'm trying to finish getting my firewood in the cellar. 7+ cords. Any way, I did replace the outer door handle, better than not doing anything.

So I've gotten the old bed pulled off, PB blaster and a flex bar, I actually removed the bolts without a torch!
Ordered all my shocks, add-a leaf and torsion keys.
Picked up my rear diff cover.
I scored a pretty good shape rear bumper from the guy I got the bed from for $30!
Tuesday I insured and registered the old girl, then drove it out to my old mans place ( roasted the junk tires a few times on the way [emoji106]) where I can do the frame work. He's got all the equipment for that at his garage.
Slow but steady progress.

I set the new bed in place for the trip to my folks house. Not a great pic, but it looks better than that smashed up bed.

I striped down the rear frame tonight. Now I can get the fab work done for the frame repair. I'm going to have to replace one spring perch. One of my parts trucks has pretty new looking replacements, so I'm in luck there. The drivers side is the bad side. I'm going to have to build a new spare tire carrier.

Did some work this weekend. I'm getting close to going back together. I'm having ranger withdrawals. It'll be nice to have a road legal truck again. I'll have pics when I get a bit more progress.

That will be a neat little truck! In regards to the ABS light, mine has been on for four years and I've had no issues with my brakes....so the solution, take out the bulb:)

Ok, thank you, I'll check that. The issue has progressed, now it hardely starts and then instantly dies. Darn truck. Still think it's the TPS?

Actually, I'm going to lift it a bit. Helper springs and torsion adjustment.
