86 ranger 2.9 4x4 . When engine heats up I have smoke coming from under the intake manifold near the spark plugs on the passenger side. There is oil beaded up underneath my oil filter and transmisison also. After driving for a few mile the engine dies out similar to transmission issues. ( I replaced the fuel pump). Any help.. I have pics I will post later.

mine was having issues with oil leaks. oil was running all over the motor and everything else below the level of the manifold. finally pulled the intake manifold and there was way too much gunk in there. passages clogged good. cleaned it all out, replaced the gaskets with quality (felpro) gaskets and all was good. i did find other leaks, but it was so much easier to find them after getting the intake done.
good luck and Welcome to TRS!

The engine dying sounds like a typical TFI module problem which is pretty common. They'll cut out when they get hot. Use the search function and you'll find lots of info on here about it.

Also - not to nag but - you probably should have posted this in the 2.9L forum. There's quite a few guys that can probably help you out more specifically there.

Welcome to TRS.
