Hi All

The ongoing saga of the Explorer...
First off thanks to all who helped with the engine swap.

96 Explorer, 4.0L, 4x4, Auto.

Got the replacement engine in, started right up and seems to run pretty good.
Came from the junk yard (115K miles, good compression) with everything but the coil pack and the throttle body so I reused them.

I do notice that it seems to spin longer and take longer to start when warm.
The engine spins over quickly regardless of warm or cold, just takes longer to fire when warm.
I had the same issue with the other engine before coolant leak which led to finding the bad heads which led to the new motor being cheaper in the long run to replace.

Any thoughts on where to look for this since most of the motor itself is new to the truck?

Thanks
Bill

Could be a fuel delivery issue, I would change the fuel filter. It's cheap and easy plus it's one less thing to worry about.
