HI!... Well I got my EXPLORER overhead console. It was bought as a kit. It came with the mounting bracket, temp sensor and pigtails for the sensor and the console. Even came with the mounting screws. lol! The only problem it is light blue.

That got fixed quickly. I dismantled the console and put it in my sandblasting cabinet on low PSI. About 40PSI. Worked perfectly. I luv not having to sand. lol! Got it painted tonight as well with the same trim paint I used on my dual "A" pillar gauge pod. Just got to put it back together tomorrow and then install it when I have time. Here's a few pics :

HI!... Well I just finished the mechanical aspect of the console install. I'm probably going to wait until the weekend to do the electrical. I think it turned out well. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get my hands on a EXPLORER center console. A guy I know says he has a bunch of them at the junk yard he works at.

Here's a few pics :

That was one of my favorite mods I did to my '97 Ranger.

Can this same addition be done for a 2008 ranger single cab?

if so...

1. Where is the outside temp sensor found in the exployer?
2. Where did you mount the outdoor temp sensor?
3. What year exployer should I look for so the parts fit my 2008 ranger?

Thanks

Yes it can.

1. Where is the outside temp sensor found in the exployer?
The outside temp sensor is found on the core support on the driver side. It is the part in this picture that has 2 wires coming out the one end only.

2. Where did you mount the outdoor temp sensor?
Mount it in the same spot on your Ranger. You will have to zip tie it there.

3. What year exployer should I look for so the parts fit my 2008 ranger
Any '98-'01 Explorer will be good. That will allow the console lighting to be the same color as your Ranger. The '95-'97 Explorers have a blue lighting where yours is green.

THE H.P FREAK, Have you wired it up yet? I'm in the process of installing on myself and was wondering where all the wires go. I know the the two blue ones go to the temp sensor and the I'm assuming the solid black is ground, and the black with blue strip goes to the matching wire in the domelight. But
I still don't know where the Gray/yellow, Gray/Black, red/black (power maybe), Green/Orange wires go.
