How much flex do you with the blazer springs? And Wat is you reasoning for the shackles forward?

complicated answers for this, and i have direct comparatives...
flex for driven vehicles is hard to gauge...but its not much compared to some of the fullsize blazers i have seen.. it is limited to about 3 up on the drivers side and 5 plus on the passenger. and from static 6-8 in of droop.
i went from a 16-18 in travel custom ttb to this. dont get me wrong, it blows away the typical sla ifs off road.
and i actually have more footprint with it then the sas coil bronco 2 i have....BUT the bronco 2 has eb axles and the ranger is full width. so theres no straight up comparison.
though my previous ttb would easily out perform the bronco 2 because the bronco 2 is just a basic install, optimization of it would change that to even.
so its between a typical lifted ttb and modified ttb as far as off road work is concerned. ride, in its current configuration sux compared to medium to soft coils.
but...on decent road it is much more stable and rides just fine and when being worked under load it is very easy to live with the shortfalls. north of the limit freeway speeds 1500 miles in a stretch with one hand on the tiller loaded for bear and stable..
overall the last 20 years my opinion has changed.. i prefer shackles forward on rigs that will be beaten if they are over a certain power range and actual front axle weight range.... folding up springs and fawking up driveshafts got old real quick when it was still powered by a healthy smallblock...shackles to the rear of the spring arguably can ride better and climb stuff better but it definitely has context for the factors to what works best.... for my desired ride height and axle width it(shackles forward) works ideally. but i run many combinations on just this platform with front axle rates ranging from 2900-3600 pounds....
yeah...the front axle weight on that pos is 3600 pounds!! not the most wll balanced machine out there
and then theres the death wobble. if you go with the jeep stuff that can be an issue that could come to piss off the pope...
so asking questions and studying factory setups and the various build threads is worth the time.
