I have a 1994 2.3 2WD Supercab 5spd and the number 12 fuse or circuit breaker is HOT AS H*LL! Anyone have any ideas why this is. Additional info ( If you don't already know ) That's the fuse that controls the Ash tray cigarette lighter and the Flash to pass. Fuse number 12 :icon_confused:

That wasn't the fuse. That WAS the cig lighter, and they're supposed to be hot :thefinger:

On a more serious note, I have absolutely no idea why it's doing that.

IIRC, 12 is a blower motor fuse, 30 amps. This is under the dash you are talking about, correct?

Excuse me, I think I read the location wrong. It's the 20.0 amp CB for the flash to pass and the cigarette lighter. It was hot and I was freaking out! I disconnected the battery and reset it ( temporarily I'd imagine ) But I'd still like to know what you guys think happened. I've never known a Circuit Breaker to get that hot. I thought when they tripped they lost current flow. I also thought the thing wouldn't have any power with the key off.

Good call Martin. I popped a couple fuses before I figured out the kids had put a penny in the socket on my Escape. Most older vehicles are not switched power on the lighter socket.
