I decided to post this in here, as the axle page didnt get any replies..
It's an easy install, but once I pop it out of its sealed motorcraft bag it's mine so...

I recently replaced my OSS or VSS (or abs or whatever) with a crappy AutoZone one, and it's been almost a year, and my trucks acting odd. Strange shifting when decelerating etc etc. Well I've gone to the conclusion its either the MAF (which is a junk yard MAF since mine took a dump a lil over a year ago) my coil pack (which is a AutoZone coil since the oem one died a year and a half ago) or my torque converter based on my symptoms. ANYWAY the OSS (VSS/ABS) I just bought which was guaranteed to fit, is like a hex , when my old one was a circle...
Here's the old with the new

and just the new..

what gives...?
ive done a ton of research and all ive found out is this is referred to as like 10 different sensors denpending on whos describing or selling..
its either a Vehicle Speed Sensor, or an Output Shaft Sensor, or an ABS Sensor.. I dont know what this thing is. The only thing I know is it is a different shape then the stock one.. ANY help is appreciated.

OSS is in the trans.

VSS is what ever provides the signal for the speedometer.

ABS is used for wheel speed to the ABS module.

In some cases, like yours, one sensor may fill two of those roles.

I do believe that is the correct sensor, it was redesigned at least once.

Thanks! I just didn't want to open that motorcraft bag until I confirmed.
