Suggestions for OBD1 scan tool (data reader)

Looking for something around $100 or so. My com adapter for work only reads on J1939 and Cat Data Link.

Just need something straight to the point so that I can try to make a few extra bucks on the weekends by diagnosing and repairing issues for friends and such.

If you have an android phone or tablet, get a Bafix Bluetooth OBD2 interface from Amazon. Cost you 25 bucks. Then get Torque Pro from the Google play store. 5 bucks. It will pull codes and give you a link to them. You can also view live stream data as the car is running.

Wow thanks. Didn't know that was possible. I have an extra Galaxy Tab 2 that I could make use out of now.

Bumping for 2016.

Having a few issues with the '95 Ranger and needing a scan tool that will give me data readings to troubleshoot. Wanting to test the ICA, but have nothing to hook to the truck. I have the JPRO software at work, but I can' find a way to adapt it to the EEC-IV connection in the Ranger.
