im sorry to start this thread, i didnt know it would be such a big problem. i didnt mean it in a bad way. i was raised to not put the flag down and to respect it. yes, i have family who was lost in WWII, theres just nobody left to tell me the stories. i didnt know this was going to be such a problem. and Fyi, in minnesota you can drink with your parents consent on your own property.
Don't be sorry about it, you stated your opinion there's nothing wrong with that. Just there's better ways to get the message across. There's also better ways to pay our respects than a banner on a website, good reminder, but I only need to be reminded once. Guess I shouldn't be saying anything either though, it appears that you did more than I did.

Glad to hear that about Minnesota. I am of the opinion that the drinking laws here should be the same. I think keeping young adults way from it here causes more problems than it solves. Since they say none until 21 period everyone tries to sneak around and get it any way. If they were introduced to it at home through the parents it wouldn't be such a problem. That doesn't make much sense does it, know what I'm thinking but can't seem to put it into words.

I'm a disabled vet (medically retired) and I support Memorial day. I had family that fought way back for our country. My pop was an Army Air Corp pilot (then Air Force when it changed over). He enlisted in 1944. His 2 older brother were Army and Army Air Corp and later Air Force like my dad and served in WWII. My dad served 33 1/2 years. My dad was in the Korean War.
My dad taught my how to drive a car and ride a motorcycle when we lived in Africa for almost 8 years!!!! That was so cool. In the 80's I got to go back to Africa and visit my old stomping grounds in Kenya. My last time there was in
'86 when I was in Kabul Afghanistan. This were I was injured from shrapnel from an ammo dump we lit up. It later caused me to get out in mid '90.

We must remember all of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for all of us to be free!!! So remember to fly those flags, say thanks to a vet when you see one and visit a site for the Vietnam Vets when you can and remember the 4th of July!!! Fly those flags!!!!!

My credo
I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Whats more un-American? Closing a reminder banner on a forum or Needing a reminder banner on a forum to remind you of what the day is all about.

Ohh, and I'm always nice to old people. I'm only rude to retarded people who for some reason have a license...
