How do you tell the difference between a valve tap and a bent push rod(s) when it comes to noise..
Have you adjusted them to spec yet, your putting the cart before the horse I doubt any of them are bent. It is a pain adjusting them correct but get two cover gaskets and take the time doing it right, If your oil pressure is good with the 10w30 you dont need to fix it just adjust the valve lash on all of the cylinders to balance the air flow thru it.

On each cylinder find TDC on the compression stroke by sticking your finger in the plug hole and turn the crank clockwise until you feel compression. put a long skinny screwdriver in the plug hole and estimate when the piston is all the way up. adjust the intake rocker for .014 clearance and the exhaust to .016. This a cold adjustment back off on the adjuster until the feeler guage fits in easy and slowly tighten it up until you feel slight resistance when you move the feeler. You may want to give it a good seafoam treatment first to clean any carbon buildup on the heads and valves first. The way I did the seafoam was slowly pour 1/2 a can down the carb at a fast idle after the engine was up to temp then quickly shut it down. Let it sit for a hour or so and the start it up and run it around 3000 rpm until it stops smoking. Do it upwind from a neighbor you dont like if there is alot of carbon it will smoke them out pretty good. Put the remainder in the fuel tank when you fill up to flush the carb and tank.
