I bought a 1997 Ranger with a 302 / t-5 trans clutch and flywheel is recent but I do not know the manufacturer. The seller was a doctor who did not know the history of the truck. The hydra clutch was a CNC 3/4 master and a CNC 7/8 slave. The master rubber inside deteriorated and came apart so I bought a new CNC master and slave…same identical parts as the old.

Pedal feels good. Can’t get it in gear. Clutch not releasing. I am getting 3/4" travel at the slave. I have the TO bearing slightly preloaded. CNC says the slave travel spec is 1 1/8” maximum.

I gravity bled then pressure bled.

Question: should I now try to reverse bleed to get an inch of travel? Is an inch enough?
