I dont know whats messed up on my truck now. I changed the carrier berring out 3 days ago thinking that would talk care of all the vibration in the rear at highway speeds but it just took the edge off. I dont think my tires are out of balance since they are 3 months old, and all my u joints are good, i checked all of them when i changed the clutch, slave cylinder and carrier berring and all the needles are still inside them. I know i put the carrier berring on right, and it's really becoming a headache. does anyone with more expertise have any advice for me?

When you changed your carrier BEARING, did you mark the shaft so you could get it back in phase with both itself and the axle?

just because tires are 3 months old doesn't mean they cant be out of balance.

I would take them to a shop with a balancer and make sure they are good.

No point in replacing a bunch of parts that arn't broken.

is your truck lifted?

a common problem with trucks that have two-piece driveshafts and a lift is that the carrier bearing needs to be lowered so that both sections of the driveshaft are perfectly in line with each other.this is where most of the one piece driveshaft swaps originate from....they work fine till it's lifted, then all kinds of vibration issues occur.
so the guy swaps in a one piece and the problem goes away.if the carrier bearing was dropped a bit,the problem would go away just as well.

on my stretched 350 i have a three piece driveshaft.until i got it all aligned i had some vibration issues....now that it's in line i can do whatever i want;smokey burnouts, wheeling, highway speeds...no problem.

I had a issue one with tires, I went and bought new set the shop owner did the work i was standing 10 feet or so behind him while he was balancing them. he said uh oh i'm ou of the weight oh wait heres one and keep going. Once done I got in my truck and got going it was shaking horrible I drove streight to Goodyear and paid them to balance them it was all better.

well ive driven less than 2k on my truck since the tires were new and they weren't done at home. I honestly dont think the tires are out of balance, and no the truck is not lifted. I didn't just change out parts that did not need to be changed, i could shake the carrier berring 2 inches when it was attached before i swapped it out. the truck drives smoother but still has a shake in the back
