I recently acquired a '92 Ranger, regular cab with bucket seats. Since I'm married with kids, I'm interested in changing that to a bench seat to be able to put kids in the middle. Was this even an option on a '92? What options do I have?

They had a 60/40 bench or they might have had a full bench. It will be an easy swap after locating the bench you want.

the most people you can legally carry in a standard cab ranger is 3 including the driver...so kid"s" may be a problem.

the 60/40 split will bolt right in and they are common. i dont think there was a full bench offered in the 2nd gens...

Did the 60/40 split have a center seat belt?

You could get one from a first gen though, with the same cab configuration you would just have to drill 4 more holes and it is in.

I had a 92 with a full bench, was really uncomfortable though. you might just want to stick with the 60/40 bench.

It isn't that I don't like my bench because it is uncomfortable, I don't like it because it is a bench.

I would like to get buckets so I could have a real center console, but after 8 years of ownership it has never gotten high enough on my priority list to deal with.

Maybe time to consider an EXT cab...those jump seats are only good for kids anyways...I don't know how an adult could sit in one comfortably for any length of time...

I like the 60/40 i got from a 92 s/c in my 84, much more comfortable than bench. You also get the center armrest, only drawback...the seem to sit lower than bench seat, not good for off road. had to use the mounts from the bench on the ends....Someday i will throw shims under the mounts and raise the seats.

my message was aimed towards the original poster as my personal opinion on what he was looking for. Basically all I was saying is that if he wanted a full bench they can be found, but i don't particularly like them.

I'm probably just going to call up the local junk yards around here and see if anything is available. I mainly wanted to know if a bench seat was even offered. Thanks for the input guys!
