I started pulling parts, Kinda hard on my arms to tackle it all at once so I'm doing it in steps. The plan is to clean and paint all the parts, New poly bushings and reassemble with a 2 inch spring spacer.

I bought a new bolts to reach threw the spacers, first I have to figure out how to get the old ones out...

I got one of the spring perch mount bolts out, not as bad as I expected.
So I ran into a little hick-up, the new bolt isn't threaded as long as I needed...Crap!
I still plan on cleaning and painting parts as I go... while I figure out how to thread this.

I might if I don't find what I'm looking for... Going to the machine shop really quick.

I've been going to the Dollar Tree and buying LA's Totaly Awesome degreaser to clean the parts. So far it's working fine..I fill a storage tub with water and a cup of degreaser and scrub the grime. rinse and dry, ready for paint. It's a buck for a 2 ltr I think.

Another thing I think you should take into consideration; the bolt threads are formed into the bolt, not cut like a threading die will do. So cut threads are weaker than formed. And you may have problems cutting into grade 8 bolts, especially with a one piece die.

There is a toilet bowl cleaner that cost a 1.00 a bottle, it comes out blue, it will remove rust and paint from steel, just don't use it on other metals, it will eat aluminum, and brass, and copper, it will also stain stainless steel.

Good luck on trying to threading that bolt if it's grade 8, i ruined two dies trying to tread one, I went to Tractor Supply and got the right length that I needed, and they where pretty cheap on the price too, you buy by the pound.

Yesterday made to rounds to all the bolt and fastener suppliers in the city, and didn't find anything to work... so I'm putting the old bolt back in and making my own stud extenders.
The plan is to use Coupling nuts and the treaded ends of the bolts I have already bought, Lock tight the two together,,,,

I've been having a hello of a time with my arms but I wanted to keep rolling.
I painted my exhaust manifolds with ceramic paint after cleaning the crap out of them.
Not the greatest but they will serve my truck, 1963 Falcon V8 manifolds.

Made it to the salvage yard...it's like coming home.

I saw this rear tank bracket on this ranger and thought it would be wise to take a pic so I have a reference to work with when mounting my rear tank on the frame.
but this is what I was after a nice short bed off a 93 sitting in the yard with only two bolts left holding it on. i called my kids to haul it out and put it on the truck..
