Well here's my truck... I'll post more pics when I get a chance. It's a 2000 regular cab 4x4 with 4.10 gears (will need a taller ratio eventually). It used to have a 3.0 in it, then a 5.0...and now a Cummins 3.9 :)

Mods:

1989 VE pumped Cummins 4BT

M5OD-R2 transmission

BW4406 electronic shift transfer case

Custom driveshafts

Custom gauges (boost, oil pressure, EGT, ECT, fuel pressure, diesel tachometer)

3" PA body lift

285/75R16 Summit Trail Climbers on Pro Comp 1069 16X8 wheels

Bull Bar and KC lights

Custom work for AC compressor install

Cool build!
Is this going to be your belated build thread?
Did you keep track of your expenses?

My credo
Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.
It does fit in there really well.

Good looking swap, truck looks great. Any idea on hp/tq and mileage figures?

Had you considered the new cummins 2.8 motor at all?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

As far as hp and torque the stock numbers are 105hp/265ft-lbs. However I rotated my fuel pin an dinstalled a dynamic timing advance kit to the pump so I'd guess it's closer to 120hp/300ft-lbs.

It's not as fast as it was with the 5.0 I had in it, but not much will slow it down with peak torque at 1600RPM. I'm getting 25mpg right now with 33s and a 4.10 rear. To really have a usable 1st gear and better cruising at 70mph I need 3.55s probably. Once that is done I'd guess mileage will improve to high twenties.

I didn't really consider the 2.8 at the time, though in hindsight it looks like a cool setup and much lighter. I really wanted the simplicity of mechanical injection and easy power mods. It only takes power to the starter and one 12V wire to the fuel solenoid to run this thing.

Looks great, expensive but looks great LOL.

I've been wondering about something similar with my 88 Bronco 2...the 2.9L V6 in it is getting tired, only issue is the automatic transmission. Maybe a project for someday when I find me another Ranger.

Impressive swap. Its clean and fits really well. Almost has a "why didn't Ford do that?" look to it.

This is one of the coolest rangers I have seen in a while. Nicely done!
