Not a question, more of an FYI, earlier this year I was hunting for some wheels to put my summer tires on, and found a LOT of conflicting info on hub size and wheel center bore sizes. All I could find for sure was that '98 & up are different the 97 and older Rangers.
I pulled my wheels on my 02 4x4 XLT yesterday to do a break inspection and measured the hubs while I was at it, So, the hubs measured 2.750"/70mm front and back, wheels (16x7 alloy) fit snug so they're about the same. My 2004 4x4 Edge parts truck (also 16x7 wheels) looks identical.
While it was up on the jack I tried a stock 15" steel wheel from a late 80s Ford LTD, big car, fit perfect. Also I had some 14" wheels from a '92 Olds Cutlass I recently scrapped, fit perfect on the back but rubbed the rotor on the front, might fit earlier models but I'm still not sure what the hub size is on those. BTW, the 16" compact spare from the Olds fits perfect front and back on my '02... Never hurts to have a spare,, spare, I guess..
Hope someone finds this info useful.
