Someone told me that the stock 50 psi pushing through a regulator will blow them out quickly, not sure if thats actually the case but for my swap i will be doing a low pressure pump with a holley regulator. Ill have to drop the tank and remove the stock pump and replace it with fuel line to the bottom of the tank. Its not hard to do and probably worth the effort more than forcing 50 psi down to about 5

This actually seems like a better option but the first link says it is for dual carbs, would you just cap the second outlet? If i get this i will be using the holley regulator after it also to get around 4-7 psi

That is why I posted the second link, but yes the body can have one or two outlets and plumbed for either one or two no matter.

Why would you add a second regulator?

Yes, no real strain on the 40psi in-tank pump since extra fuel/pressure is just sent back to the tank on the return line.
This can lower MPG because of the movement and warming of the fuel as it passes thru the fuel lines(friction), and this is why Ford and others switch to "returnless" systems in the late 1990's.
It isn't much of an MPG increase/decrease but in the MPG wars every little bit counts :)
But since you are running a carb MPG wouldn't be on your mind in any case, lol.

That regulator linked is the one I used on my 91, I added a fuel pressure guage after the regulator to keep tabs on it. Works very well!

where abouts in-line is the best place to install the regulator?

I mounted mine on the firewall right behind the carb and ran high pressure rubber line from the steel line up and back.
