hey guys justa quick question, on a c5 trany on my bronco II the connecting rod that goes from the carb to the little lever on the tranny, normally when its hooked up from the factory its hooked up so the connecting rod pushes down on the lever which would be counter clockwise if you were facing it. i understand that this is to assist the trany in shifting. after some work, the connecting rod does not line up and the lever on the trany is sitting in the roughtly 7 o clock position if you were facing it. i have noticed the lever has like a rectangular position on it so obviously its meant to sit where it is. but i was wondering if i was to take the lever and flip it 180 degrees and have it sit in the 1oclock ish position would it still work and have the rod still push down on it but it would now be going in the clock wise position, is the kick down lever able to work in both clock wise and counter clock wise position or is it one way only? the other option is to cut up the existing connecting rod and extend it or try and find a cable to replace the rod. i don't understand why it all lined up before and not now. i had a shop replace the neutral safety switch a few years back and the bronco II project kinda sat for quite a few years since.
