Hello All,
I have a 1999 B4000 Troy Lee Design 4x4. The engine was severely over heated and blew head gasket and who knows what else.
My question, will the same 4.0L from a 98-99 Ranger transfer directly in to the B4000? No modifications, just literally bolt in??
The shop that I'm having do this is only finding 4.0L from Rangers from their local vendors. Something about the B4000 part number doesn't cross reference to Ranger part number (I'm not sure - something like that). The shop thinks it should be fine, but is worried if they get the one from a Ranger they may run into a snag after the fact and he only wants to do a direct replacement. Plus it may cost more if there is more dickering to get the replacement engine in.
Is there some reference or documentation to show they're the same installation?
As you can probably tell I don't know much about this and have been trying to research this as much as I can.
Thanks for your time.
