I ahve been reading a lot in this forum about how the cam synchro and or the cam position sensors go out on the 3.0. In this case a syncho or a sensor goes go out what are the possible side effects, internal damged stalled engine, locked motor ect??

the syncro fails due to the gear stripping out. this gear drives the cam syncro sensor as well as the oil pump...so when it goes, you loose oil pressure. worst case scenario you will spin bearings and seize the motor.

This is exactly what happened to my motor.
What does it take to install a new one and typiclly how much do they cost.
I got a used motor with 50,000 on it and im going to replace it now.
