I was going down the road and truck died. It was the timing belt, had snapped in half. I replaced the timing belt and it started fine but has a vibration at all speeds. I re-checked the timing marks and they look good. Any ideas on what to check? It could be a tooth off I'm guessing but not sure

Check the fan clutch and fan.

I assume it is not a mis-fire vibration?

So no, it wouldn't be missed timed camshaft

My fan is electric. I wasnt sure if this could be out 180, I would not think it would matter. I think timing belt snapped because I tightened to tight.I put it on about one year ago. I am not sure what you would call it at idle when your hand is on the steering wheel it is shaking pretty good. I though it could be off a tooth or 2, or out 180 ??? no idea. Anything else I can check. I will take it back apart in a little bit and look for any problems. Going to eat first.

You are correct, no 180 out for TDC and CAM.

Cam, crank and oil pump shafts are all balanced separately so so even out of time they wouldn't vibrate.

Reads like a mis-fire.
Recheck spark plug wires on coils, I can't even count the times "I knew" they were correct, and they were NOT, lol.
It is the simple things that get overlooked

Thanks for the ideas.I double checked the wires and 2 were switched. They would have been like that for quite awhile. I am guessing about a year? The wires would not be able to be switched at the plugs only at the coils.I took the wires off at the plugs to take the plugs out to change the timing belt. I am not sure how it happened. Thanks to you I checked the wires though. It runs great. :icon_thumby:

edit: the two wires were on the exhaust side
