1998 Ranger XLT. I have polished the headlight lenses but the high beams still do not project out very far. "Very far" being vague but I am comparing them to my '07 Forester.
I have installed Sylvania Ultra halogen bulbs. but they still do not get OUT there.
* Anyone have experience in this area or have suggestions?
* Do alternative lenses exist?
* Should I make "Ma" ride on the hood with a spot light?

Thanks....

Have you checked their aim? (maybe they're aimed down too low or up too high)

It's also possible your Forester lights might simply have better optics too, since it's almost a decade newer vehicle.

One good option is to add a set of auxiliary driving lights, and set them up on a relay that switches them on & off via your high-beam circuit.

I don't think Ma will enjoy sitting out there too much if it's raining though...

I have the same issue with my hi-beams but I am 99.9% sure I just need to re-aim them... The lows seem fine but when I use the high's it really should be going down the road a lot more then they do.

I would also suggest maybe looking at the clips and make sure the headlights are installing back in the proper spot.
