I've got a 1991 Ranger with the 3.0 & the 5 speed. It has an oil leak that is somehow blowing back and dripping off of the transmission. Coming from somewhere near the top back of the engine. I just can't find out where. Is there any component back there that could possibly leak besides the obvious valve cover gaskets and distributor O-Ring? Those seem dry.

Oil pressure switch is passenger side top back of 3.0l

Main seal is of course in the bell housing so can spin oil and throw it out any where around bell housing, but you would most likely see inspection plate leak as well

Thanks for the info on the pressure switch. I will try to look for that.

This oil leak is coming from somewhere high on the back of the engine and running down to the top of the trans before dripping down. It is very difficult to see anything on the back of the engine in this truck.

If you find the leak, do let us know. My 1995 leaks from a potentially similar location, and that was AFTER replacing the oil pan/gasket, valve cover gaskets, and rear main seal. Recently replaced cam syncro (same thing as your 93's distributor) too. I did add a plumbing fitting to my oil sensor hole (to adapt a large analog pressure sensor) which wasn't leaking. My point here is that there might be another leak source that neither of us has found (or moron here, in my case at least, messed up the valve cover and didn't notice the leak).
