GPS switched power source

I would like to power my GPS from switched power rather than having to plug/unplug the GPS every time I drive the truck. Is there a good place to pick up switched power in my 2002 4WD XLT? I don't mind removing the instrument cluster as I've done that before.

You would use a fuse tap

Google: automotive fuse tap

There are different sizes so get correct size and amp rating for your application

Find a Key on power fuse in the cab fuse box, Radio is a popular choice since it is on in ACC as well as RUN, but your choice
Insert fuse tap

Run the tap wire to a new plugin and also ground that plugin.

Or cut the 12v wire on the current plugin and splice new wire to it

They are not expensive
