Hello Everybody...Ranger Lemons Racer

Hello Everybody,

Our team has a 1998 Short bed(really no bed), 2wd, 4.0 automatic Ranger we turned into a 24hoursofLemons Race Truck. We just raced in CT at Thompson Motor Speedway.

We did pretty good, we raced the whole race, with little issue from our little ranger, and we actually got an award for Organizers Choice! We plan on doing a race in October, Halloween Houptiefest! So we have a few weeks to prep for it.

Looking to use this forum as a resource. Thanks everybody.

I'd love to do a lemons race.
What has been your cost so far to get it onto the race track? My race truck I've got about $C8,000.00 into including all safety gear, my running gear is basically stock.

Truck was 400, we built our cage, all safety gear, seat, harness, etc, tires, some parts was 4100. It was a blast.

But now we are looking to lower it, and do some small power mods.

What series do you race in? Where are you located?

Your price isn't too far off mine as I had the cage built for $2,500.00. I was racing in WORR. Western Off Road Racing based in Alberta, Canada. Money problems have prevented my racing for the last two years, but it is always on my mind. The pic in the avatar is me and my first race result. I thought it was a good pic juxtaposed to my name alwaysFlOoReD....my dry sense of humor.

Ahhhhh...I gotcha. Yeah money seems to always get in the way of fun. Too bad you weren't closer you could drive with us, but maybe after seeing your avatar maybe not. Lol

AFAIK; the 24 hours of Lemons is a real race series, using a play of words on the 24 hour Lemans race. You cannot spend more than $500.00 on the race vehicle not including safety related stuff. It's meant to be light hearted cheap racing, where humor can get you points in the race.

Been racing Lemons for several years now and its a total blast!
Building an 89 extra cab for next years season.
We only race every year at New Jersey Motorsports park since we are from Delaware
