Hello Rangerstation,
I have a 1989 ranger supercab and I am in need of new doors. Or at least a new driver side door. I am curious as to what years the doors are interchangeable with so I can go to the junkyard this weekend and get some while it is half off weekend. Thank you for any info in advance

89-92 are direct interchange. Understand the '92 doors have some crazy cable linking the inner handle to the latch that gives problems sometimes, so you might want to hold onto those parts (inner handle, rod, latch) from your old door.

Pretty sure gen1 doors will bolt on but you would need to swap over your interior stuff to make things match up, and the early (88 and older) doors had no door speakers.

Happy hunting!

PS: far as I know single or supercab door will fit. You could check out BroncoII's and early Explorers (pre-94?) also
PS2: http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68672 based on a post in page3 on the interchange thread I reckon you are looking at 89-92 ranger 89-90 b2 and 91-94 explorer

Yes...and like saskbill said, the interior hardware is different from first gen 83-88 and second gen 89-92...and there may even be some hardware differences between the second gen doors.

I took a set from a 92 and liked the interior panels and the louvered door flaps (first gens had the same but it was carpy)...the 92 door latch uses a "push" handle to open the door from the inside handle while previous years (up to 88 for sure) used a pull handle on the inside.

The outside door handle is fragile and will break (mine did) but you can order new handles if needed for about $20 from what I found...the door handle also uses a pull mechanism for outside connections and it appears as if the small connector point on the handle breaks off over time...Gen I door handles will not work with the door latch and the inside handles will fit in the space on the door but you have to change the interior panel and the latch mechanism in the door...

Way too much work...but worth the effort for better door insulation...
