I bought a 93 ford ranger a week ago for 350$ to see if I could fix it I was told the motor is fine but they sent it in to a shop to get the fuel pump changed and the guy tore into it and supposedly fried the ecu. when I got it I put it all back together and got it to turn over and sprayed starting fluid in it and got it to start but it had a loud rattling/knocking sound. and I don't think the fuel injectors are sending fuel cause it dies after a little. I disconnected the brain and tried to start it and got the same effect it ran but rattled. my question is is could the ecu really be fried and that's whats causing the knocking/rattling and no fuel delivery.(I have pressure in my lines) what do all of you think?
